Questions about your personal information? Look here first.

Do I need to provide any personal information if I want to submit a rebate report?

Not really. We do ask for your e-mail address, but we don't have any way of tying that to a name or street address -- and we're never going to show your e-mail address to anyone. And, we're certainly not going to give that information to anyone. We also ask what city you are from, but not your exact street address. We just want a sense of what parts of the country the rebate reports are coming from. You will not need to register or provide your name or street address or any other details. We try to keep things simple, so that this site will be useful.

Why do you ask for an e-mail address before publishing a rebate report?

We only ask for it so that we can reduce the chances of some trouble-maker coming along and trying to post hundreds of reports on the site through lots of button clicking or through some sort of automated process. We ask for your e-mail address so that we can send you one e-mail message that contains a link that you click to "activate" your rebate report and make it show up on the web site. That's all there is to it.

Why do you ask which city I am from, in the rebate report?

We just want a sense of what parts of the country the rebate reports are coming from. It helps make the reports feel more tangible to the other consumers who come along later and see these long lists of reports from all over the country. It gives more credence to the reports too. It would have been nice to be able to say "this report came from Jane L. Smith." But, a lot of people hate to give out their names on-line. So, instead of being so invasive, we're trying to strike some middle ground.

Will my e-mail address ever show up on the web site, if I provide it to you? Will you sell it to someone or share it with someone?

No. We solemnly promise to never reveal your e-mail address to anyone, whether on this web site or through any other means. It's that simple.

Is there any way that some company or person could figure out that I posted a report on this web site?

No. There is no way that we know of that any company you report on could ever find out that you visited this web site or submitted any information to it. Unless, you choose to type in some identifiable information in the report itself, like in the comments section, for example. Of course, we advise against that.
