This site was created by web developer Jamie Barger to offer a whole new way of analyzing rebate information. The site is intended to help consumers make wise purchasing decisions. Before shopping for new computers, DVD players, VCRs, or televisions, buyers can come here for insights into which rebates offer the best values for their shopping dollars.

But, this is not another list of where to find current rebate offers. No. This is something new and unique. Rebate Report Card is an open database of information for consumers, that is built by consumers. It is a collection of ratings, rankings, or grades of various companies, based on how good they are at paying their rebates on time, in full, with no hassles.

It will take some time to gradually build up a useful amount of information in the database. By the winter of 2006, this site should be extremely useful to consumers who are considering a purchase that is influenced by a rebate incentive.

Of course, it will immediately be helpful for those who just need a place to vent a little of the frustration they have experienced because of rebate hassles. They can post a grade for the company that offered the rebate. And, they can start a discussion on the fledgling message board or answer some opinion polls within the web site.
